TRIO Hatsu 09 , invitation to play

Beitrag von Kotononami »

Hi sumo-gamers and happy new year!

Welcome to a new session of TRIO.
You can already make your pick for Day 1 HERE

New players are always welcome , come and give it a try! ;-)
The rules are very simple :

Code: Alles auswählen

1- général Principles :
-----------------------

TRIO is a game played exclusively one the French-speaking forum of www.info-sumo.net

Every day of every hon-basho, two teams of three rikishi are proposed, named "equipe A" (team A) and

"equipe B" (team B). These teams are formed from three actual fights scheduled in the day's official

torikumi.

Every player indicates which team (A or B) will have more wins, ans how many wins axactly they'll score (2

or 3).

Once the bouts actualy took place, the teams with the most wins is declared the winner. The purpose of the

game is to correctly predict the winning team.

2- primary scoring : "victories - defeats" :
---------------------------------------------

Every player who correctly predicted the winning team scores a victory.
Every player who predict the loosing team as the winner scores a defeat.
Every player who didn't send any prediction before the deadline score an absence.

3- technical scoring :
----------------------

Apart from the primary scoring, every player scores technical points, depending of the number of wins he

predicted for his team. This score depends on the number of wins scored by the actual team and the guess

made by the player. Important mistakes cost points, whyle trying to predict a 3-0 victory is very well

rewarded (in case of success).

TABLE OF TECHNICAL POINTS :
*****************************************************************
player's actual technical victory
entry score points / defeat
2-1 0-3 -1 D
2-1 1-2 1 D
2-1 2-1 4 V
2-1 3-0 3 V

player's actual technical victory
entry score points / defeat
3-0 0-3 -2 D
3-0 1-2 0 D
3-0 2-1 3 V
3-0 3-0 6 V
*****************************************************************

A 3-0 correctly guessed is called a "TRIO !"

If absent, a player scores automaticaly 0 points.

4- yusho - overall victory :
------------------------------

By the end of the 15 days of the basho, the player with the more victories is declared the winner. In case

of several players with the same score, here are the tie-breaker rules for the yusho :

(1) highest technical score
(2) highet number of "TRIO !"
(3) less days with the chosen team scoring 0 points
(4) less absences
(5) highest banzuke ranking (not valid for new players)
(6) random draw if rule (5) not valid

5- special prizes - sansho :
---------------------------

Several special prizes are awarded at the end the basho. They can be awarded to several players.

*** Shukun-sho : kashi-koshi and highest technical score (yokozuna and ozeki can't be awarded a shukun-

sho).

*** Kanto-sho : (not avlid after hatsu 2006 : kashi-koshi and lowest technical score) Starting at hatsu 2006 : highest "total score / number of wins" ratio, and kashi-koshi. If the winner of this sansho is also winner of the Shukun-sho, then the sansho is also awarded to the second player in this ranking.

*** Gino-sho : kashi-koshi and highest number of "TRIO !" made. If there is a tie, the player(s) with the

least "0-3" days are awarded the prize.

Limitation : one player can't be awarded the yusho, and a shukun-sho, and a gino-sho. If there is such a

case one day, this player will receive the yusho and a gino-sho, and the shukun-sho will be awarded to the

next player(s).

6- gyoji:
-------------

All gyoji must be able to write and read French (perhaps not perfectly, but enough to talk with all players

in French).

There is :

* a tate-gyoji : Furanohana, who organises the game.
* some day-to-day gyoji ("Gyoji Du Jour"), known as 'GDJ'.
* a forum-gyoji, the webmaster of info-sumo.net for all problems concerning the forum.

7- organisation, deadlines :
---------------------------------

Every day of the basho, a GDJ :
- chooses the A and B teams
- notes the players's entries
- publishes the results and transmit them to the tate-gyoji

The two teams are published the day before the bouts ont the info-sumo forum, before 8:00 pm CET (Paris,

Berlin, etc.), but preferably before 5:00 pm CET. This post is in the subforum "TRIO".
The players can put their entries until 7:00 am CET the day of the bouts, before the actual start of the

bouts. These entries are entered as posts in the same topic as the first post publishing the teams

composition. Every entry made after the deadline will not be taken into account, and the player will

receive 0 points and an absence for the day. Every player not submitting a numbor of win for his team will ba considered as if he submited a 3-0 entry.
The results will be published as soon as possible by the GDJ in a new topic.

The GDJ list is established by the tate-gyoji. Every member of info-sumo.net can volunteer.

The game is open to unregistred player. Player not registred on info-sumo.net must precise their shikona

each time they post. The various gyoji of the game would like that people don't participate in more than

one basho without register.
You can register by going to the following page :
http://www.info-sumo.net/info/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=new_user
and just putting in your shikona ("pseudo"), your e-mail, your password ("mot de passe") twice ("entrez la

mote de passe à nouveau" = type the password again).

8- absences :
-------------

If a player is absent during a complete basho :
- the first time, he's granted a kosho status, and keeps his rank on the banzuke;
- if he's absent for several consecutive basho, then the second and following basho are treated as 15

losses basho.

Three consecutive absences are considered as an intai.
A player whishing to go intai should tell the tate-gyoji, in order to facilitate the banzue making...

9- banzuke :
------------

After every basho, a banzuke is made by the tate-gyoji, with the help of one or more GDJ. This banzuke is

made with a makuchi division of 42 players, ans if necessary a juryo division of 26, and then a makushita

dvision.

*** Promotion to ozeki :
Will be considered for promotion a player with at least 32 victories over 3 basho, the two last being rank

in sanyaku.
If this number of 32 prouves to be to hard to accomplish, then promotions of player s with 30 or more wins

will be considered. The tate-gyoji decision is the rule.

*** Demotion drom ozeki :
Un ozeki with 2 consecutive make-koshi will be demoted to sekiwake. If for his first basho at this rank he

collects 10 or more wins, he'll be re-promoted as ozeki.

If there is no ozeki, the two leading sekiwake have the rank of sekiwake-ozeki.

*** Promotion to yokozuna :
Will be considered for promotion a player collecting two consecutive yusho, as an ozeki or two records

equivalent to the yusho. He must have won at least one yusho in his career.
The final decision is made by the tate-gyoji, assisted by the TRIO-YDC (formed by several regular GDJ) and

the forum-gyoji.
A yokozuna can't be demoted. However, he's expected to perform accordingly to his rang, and specialy avoid

make-koshi.

10- backup solution :
-----------------------

If Info-Sumo is not available during several hours, teams propositions and entries can be sned and accessed thanks to the SML-F list ('French sumo mailing list').
It is higly recommanded to every player of the game to suscribe to the SML-F before the beginning of the basho, at the following adress :
http://fr.groups.yahoo.com/group/SML-F/

11- rules evolution :
---------------------------

The rules can be revised after every basho. The tate-gyoji listen to every player and GDJ's opinion. The

tate-gyoji and the forum-gyoji are the only ones habilited to making modifications to the rules.

These rules are effective starting in january 2006.
